Pastor Lisa Smith-Reid received her Bachelor degree in Theology from Oakwood College (now University) in Huntsville, AL and a Masters in Divinity from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. Her twenty-eight years in pastoral ministry began in the Southern California conference, where she served as Associate Youth Director. Under the leadership and blessing of God, she was promoted to pastor of two churches in southern California. Pastor Smith-Reid was called to serve in the Allegheny East Conference as an associate pastor following a speaking engagement at an Evangelistic Forum at her alma mater, Oakwood College. With this new position, she became the first female pastor in the Regional Conferences, an honor that she graciously accepts as a gift from God. She has pastored in churches in California, the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, as well as travelling domestically and internationally sharing her passion for Christ.
Pastor Smith-Reid is a living testimony that the blood of Jesus Christ has the power to totally and completely cleanse, heal, direct and set you free if you accept Him as your Lord and Savior, making Him the center of your life. Proverbs 3:5-6 sums up her motto, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” Pastor Smith-Reid was happily married to the late Pastor Armando Reid and is a wonderful loving mother to her greatest blessings, Armando IV and Elizabeth. She also has the distinction of being the first female pastor of the historic First Church of Seventh-day Adventists of Washington, DC.
