EDUCATION MINISTRY

First Chuch student reading a bible. The Education Ministry serves the entire congregation by effectively ministering to students (kindergarten-university). One of its specific goals is to promote Christian education by encouraging attendance at Seventh-day Adventist educational institutions. (The Seventh-day Adventist church operates a school system to provide children and youth with a balanced physical, mental, spiritual, social, and vocational education, with God as the source of all moral value and truth.) The First Church of Seventh-day Adventists is a constituent church of the George E. Peters Adventist School.

The Education Ministry’s specific goals are as follows:

  • Provide nurturing support to all kindergarten-university students of the First Church
  • Encourage and support a Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education
  • Promote opportunities to attend the George E. Peters Adventist School
  • Recognize achievements of college/university graduates via a yearly service
  • Encourage reading among k-12 students and recognize achievements
  • Work with the First Church Youth Department to recognize other achievements of our students.
